SPRAY DRYING AGGLOMERATION
The fluidized bed spray drying agglomeration is an innovative method to produce well flowable, dust-free agglomerates with extraordinary instant properties from a solid-containing liquid. It is a combined process by spray drying and agglomeration, i.e. both process steps are running simultaneously in one plant.
Through the nozzle systems, integrated in the fluidized bed plant, a solid-containing liquid (suspension, solution, emulsion, etc.) is atomized. The liquid evaporates and spray dried granules seeds occur. These swirled particles were ongoing sprinkled with the solid-containing liquid. Thus, between the single particles, liquid- and solid-bridges were built and lead to upgrowth of the agglomerates when spraying is continued over some time.

The spray drying agglomeration is realizable with several products for most diverse applications as well in continuous as in batchwise processing. Through variegating the plant- and process-parameters, the targeted final product properties (e.g. particle size distribution, bulk density or residual moisture) can be individually adjusted.
